I want to share with you information that not only tells you what I do, but more so tells you who I am. I love being a nurse and 2008 is my 33rd year in the profession. It all started when my Dad was ill when I was a little girl and my mother would dress me up as a nurse to help care for him. Then I took my nursing campaign to the streets when during Halloween I dressed up in a white sheet with a red cross on it. Now I coach and educate other health care workers and leaders to feel empowered in giving the very best in patient care. When I am not teaching or developing courses I am publishing articles, creating Tips of The Month for triage and managers or even better yet working prn in the Emergency Department. When the laptop computer is shut down or the stethoscope comes off I put on my child advocacy hat and with the help of my husband Dennis provide foster care to some very important children. Our house is probably not a lot different than yours with a dog and a cat, maybe the four horses are not as typical. With a love for trail riding and packing a peanut butter sandwich in a saddlebag, we share our love of the outdoors and horses with foster children in Tennessee. About ten years or so ago (seems forever) I decided to leave the world of management and break away from the traditional...not to any surprise of those who know me. I wanted real world information to get out there so people could provide not only quality patient care but also effective leadership. Having had some powerful mentors in my career, (thank you Tom Clairmont of Lakes Region General Hospital in NH), I knew that with the right tools and resources everyone could be successful. So this journey has brought me to an updated web page, the opportunity to meet healthcare workers across America (It was a thrill to be in Alaska) and the privilege of being at the bedside of patients. Take Good Care,

(Home) 931-722-7218 More than seventeen years ago we joined together in our mission of helping children in foster care, we had lots of dreams back then. When we developed our business, Health Resources Unlimited eleven years ago, we were not prepared for the long days and endless months it would take to begin the path to success. With the support of family and friends and motivated by the courage of the foster children that have graced our home, we have begun our dream. After a long search we found:
DoubleCreek is up and running serving as many foster children as we can but we need more help! We are now a 501c3 organization (non-profit) and need help with grant writing/identifying donors. Our motto here is related to the fact that we know we can't help every child, but we can make a difference, one child at a time. OCAT: One Child At A TimeWe will be applying for federal grants and corporate donations to build cabins and classroom space as well as to hire professional counselors for these special families. DoubleCreek is offering a retreat type atmosphere where foster children can begin the healing process and foster parents can learn the tools to help these kids become successful in their lives. If you are interested in volunteering your time or contributing a donation, please call or email as at contact information noted above. | ||||||||
